These sessions are where my heart is. THIS is why I do what I do. There are so many reasons why I want to help you preserve this moment, this snuggle, that giggle... Life is speeding by and I encourage you to document the real life, as it is today. It is sometimes hard to say what you'd like to preserve, but I encourage you to think back on your childhood and your family memories... do you remember with joy your family placing you on a bench with flowers and telling you to smile? Or is it the true memories that bring a smile to your face? Perhaps you want to remember your Saturday morning family routine where you lounge in your pajamas till 11, making pancakes, watching cartoons, and reading books/the paper. Or is it the afternoon bike rides in the neighborhood and the barbeques that follow? Perhaps it's the trip to grandpa's log cabin where you yourself fished as a child and now your children are learning. Or maybe it's the 'mundane' weekly evening routine of the dinner hustle, the homework, the baths, books and snuggles. I encourage you to think about what is happening right. this. second. I promise you in a year it will be different, and I challenge you to take a step in preserving real life for yourself and your children as it is evolving constantly and each chapter of life is truly remarkable.
“Do not ask your children to strive for extraordinary lives. Such striving may seem admirable, but it is the way of foolishness. Help them instead to find the wonder and the marvel of an ordinary life. Show them the joy of tasting tomatoes, apples and pears. Show them how to cry when pets and people die. Show them the infinite pleasure in the touch of a hand. And make the ordinary come alive for them. The extraordinary will take care of itself.”
